Dear UCI faculty and staff,
As announced in March, all computing devices must have the ZotDefend Security Package installed by May 19, 2025 in order to access protected areas of our campus network such as KFS, Docusign, FacNet, and some department servers.
This initiative is part of a mandate for all UC campuses to protect the University’s sensitive information and mitigate potential risks, such as ransomware.
The campus security package is available to download for employees who manage their own IT support. Install instructions can be found in our ZotDefend Security Package Service Page along with answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Need a temporary exemption? You can request one after the deadline in the Support tab of our ZotDefend Security Package Page. This is available for those that need emergency access to protected campus network resources.
If you would like to check that the security package is downloaded and running correctly, you can use the test application to do so.
