This past summer ICS Computing Support did some great work with Kubernetes with the help of one of our new student sysadmins. As a result of that effort we have put out Jupyterhub for instruction.
JupyterHub is the best way to serve Jupyter notebook for multiple users. It can be used in a classes of students, a corporate data science group or scientific research group. It is a multi-user Hub that spawns, manages, and proxies multiple instances of the single-user Jupyter notebook server.
In addition to the stock terminal and notebooks, our Jupyterhub image also has RStudio, VSCode and and an XDesktop.
Jupyterhub is already being used for instruction in ICS courses with customized sites and containers. It is for instruction since it is running on instructional equipment, but any user with an ICS account can login and try it out at: https://hub.ics.uci.edu
