This is an important reminder regarding the mandatory installation of the ZotDefend Security Package on all university owned computing devices. As we approach the deadline, we want to ensure that all ICS faculty members are prepared and compliant.

Key Points:

Deadline: May 15, 2025

Requirement: All university computing devices must have the ZotDefend Security Package installed

Access: Required for protected areas of our campus network such as KFS and DocuSign.

Purpose: To protect the University’s sensitive information and mitigate potential risks such as ransomware

Action Required:

You have two options for installing the ZotDefend Security Package:

Self-enrollment: You can now download and install the security package yourself. Instructions and FAQs are available on the ZotDefend Security Package Service Page.

If you choose this option please let the ICS Helpdesk know.  

IT Support: ICS Helpdesk will be working directly with faculty to install the security updates. If you prefer this option, please contact helpdesk@ics.uci.edu.

Important: To avoid any interruptions to your work, we strongly recommend installing the package as soon as possible.
